Days + 105,106,107
Phew, what a lot to catch up on guys! Where have we all been since Thursday?
Well, firstly of course, news of Ella. Ella has been more comfortable these last few days. Dr Wynn and the pain team decided that she should go back to I.V. morphine….which at first thought seems to be a backwards step, but at the moment, for Ella, is giving a better background relief. However, it means that for the time being she doesn’t have any time off her lines.
The last few days have seen a lot of coming and going, with lots of trips to and from Southport. We had a visit from Reg on Thursday, and then Sam came up with Daddy on Friday. Damian was staying and Sam came home with Mummy for the night.
Where was Nanna some may ask? Well I had an appointment at the dentist on Friday….which I couldn’t put off. My tooth broke whilst I was really enjoying a ginger biscuit, so I had to take myself, and it, to see Mt Stournton. I’m sure you’ll all be relieved to know that it’s been stuck back together….his words, not mine!
What else? Oh yes….we have two new additions to the family here in Manchester. First of all there’s Elizabeth and secondly there is Ella’s new chariot, as yet unnamed. Elizabeth arrived on Thursday in rather a large box. She is soft, smooth, just the right colour and has got her own stand. Have you guessed? Yes, Ella’s new hair. We decided that the name Elizabeth suits her ( if you know what I mean). She doesn’t look the type you would ‘rag’ round the bed and wash in the ‘little blue bath’. Seriously though, this beautiful wig has been given by a charity called the ‘Little Princess’ who devote their funds to providing tailor made hair for children in Ella’s position. Lizzie still has pride of place actually in bed though….which will take some beating.
The ‘chariot’ is fab too. It’s not pink….yet…..but rather a fetching turquoise, bluish sort of colour. Very cute though. It’s just a miniature grown up one, with the big wheels and all! Ella hasn’t sat in it yet, so we are still holding our breath as to whether it will be the right size. All it needs is customizing…..so thinking caps on guys!
I haven’t got any photos to put on today….having been missing for a couple of days…..but when Mummy gets back tomorrow we’ll take a few.
As you may have realised it is Saturday night and Ella and I are here watching a bit of TV. Well I’m watching TV( Pearl Harbour) and Ella is fast asleep. I’m going to finish now and give the film ‘a chance’.
We send our love and best wishes to Ian and Lincoln, on their birthdays, and also to Josh and Megan, Ella’s cousins. Hope you all had a great day today.
Night night, lots of love and all our thanks for your prayers and loving support.

Hi all, just caught up on a week’s reading - sorry been a bit out of touch. Looks like things have been a bit up and down Ella, but slow but steady progress – great and well done. Been bit hectic here with GCSE's, Matt finishing school (apart from exams) Tom having braces fitted (to his teeth not his trousers) and not been able to eat much. The wrap making lessons I had off you Ella have come in really handy – because he can eat them! H has also been to London for exam marking stuff. Beginning a sabbatical means seeing all the things to do that have been ignored for ages and a publisher wants two chapters of my book ASAP before making a decision – wow. Trouble is still got to write them! Still thinking of you all loads. Take care all Martin xx

ReplyDeleteHi Ella, I managed to push the wrong button above!!!.
ReplyDeleteHope you’ve been feeling a bit better over the weekend, and how excited are we waiting to see you’re new “chariot” and Elizabeth, they both sound wonderful. Hopefully you’ve been able to see the sunshine outside, but I'm sure it’s been lovely and cool inside. We have “slightly” pink children at the moment, I think they might even be the right shade for a pink chariot not sure they’d go with turquoise, with such a regal passenger as Elizabeth (and of course you) I feel that foot men/woman/persons may be essential (how P.C. can I be!!!). Maybe Mummy, Daddy, Nana and Aunty Rachael could assist here!
We are exhausted already, Ana started on Sunday morning at 6.30 and we heard her organising Anthony and Clarissa, (she must of heard my comment about personnel dressers and decided to become one for her brother and sister), it was funny listening to her telling them that their choices weren’t right and such and such a top would work. I really don’t know where she gets it from, must be her father! We all finished around 10p.m. when I finally managed to extract her from her birthday presents. The flying butterfly and remote control fairy are amongst her favourites (mine too, mummy’s have to test all these things!), up there was a High School Musical Key-ring that you can record a phrase on and play it back. I found Hannah Montana the microphone in bed with me this morning singing “The Best of Both Worlds” a bit of a shock at 4.30! We’ve still got two weeks to go, will we survive?!
Thinking of you all, looking forward to seeing those photos.
