Day +100, and +101
Hi to everyone and I must begin by singing……
‘CONGRATULATIONS AND JUBILATIONS’ to Simon, who completed the Manchester 10k run for the bone marrow unit yesterday. His time?,,,,a fantastic
1hr 02mins 43secs. Thank you soooooooo much Simon, for running for us all here, I know that all the money you raised will be put to great use here on the unit, and at the new hospital too. I can’t give you an exact total but it is well over his target of £500.
Ella had a quiet day on Saturday, after a buy Friday night. We didn’t do very much at all except snooze, but we did enjoy a lovely visit from Uncle John and Debra. We were able to catch up on news but best of all for Ella, they brought along a present from their holiday …a singing camel! (No, not a real one Rachael) It sings ‘Any Dream Will Do’….very cute. Where did they go on holiday? …..Devon…..Ummmm. Any ideas for names?
Ella had a good day on Sunday, following a much more peaceful night. I know that she was busy, in between snoozes, decorating some of the gingerbreads with Daddy, to share out. Only 68 left to go! They had a little walk along the corridors too, much too rainy to chance it outside.
Sally brought a game back called ‘Piggy Bank’, so teatime Sunday we three had a game. Needless to say Ella beat us, hands down, and then insisted that Sally and I carry on, to find 2nd and 3rd place. Well, 45mins later we were still throwing the dice! We finished………. eventually…….zzzzzzzzz
I’m going to get this posted off as soon as I can now. It’s early morning, Monday, and I know there are some early rises among you. There is more news to add on, but we can tell you that next time.
Oh, one of the night staff, Marie, went to visit the new hospital over the weekend and she has been describing it to us. She says it is absolutely fab, with every piece of the latest equipment you could wish for! I hope prospective parents and families get a chance to look around too….maybe we should suggest it?
So, lots of love to everyone and all our thanks for your loving support and prayers.
Ella, Sally and Annette.xxx

  1. Good Morning ella Bella, well looking out of the window this morning its not a very good morning as far as the weather is concerned...its pouring with rain, how typical. Nick took a days holiday to take me out as he'd been away with his friend saturday & night but there is no chance of getting the scooter out. I was hoping that we could have had a ride to north wales to the big fabric warehouse for some intersting girlie fabric & perhaps a new pattern or two, then on to our friends who live in rhyl ( well someone has to live there) not my favorite of places but there is a prpoer italian ice cream parlour,( its one & only redeaming factor)but we won't be doing that now as it takes longer in the car strangly enough... So what can we do, oh I'll think of something good before he's showered.
Loulou Bunny won't be happy again as the rain yesterday & again today has ment that she spent more or less the whole day in the green house with only brief forrays onto the grass for a quick munch of the new shoots, but at least they were moist. When you've finished decorating your gingerbread men biscuits could you save one for me they are my second favourite next to merangues UMMMMMMM Yummy, not that they help the swimming costume dilema...but who cares. hope today is a comfortable one for you & that you keep on winning the new piggy game, sending you huge rainbow wishes & lots of fairy kisses sallyanne, Nick & a grumpy Loulou Bunny X X X X

  2. Hi Ella and family
Lovely to see the pictures of you doing all of your activities. They are certainly keeping you busy in Manchester.
In St. John's SATs week is over and year 6 are busy writing their own books. There are all different sorts of topics that the boys and girls are interested in. Some of the children are writing about cars. Some are writing about fashion. Some, and I know that you will be interested to hear about this Ella, are writing about Ancient Egypt and are busy finding out about all of the interesting things that happened in those times.
Also this week the children are cooking. They are making biscuits and gingerbread men-just like you-although I don't think we'll end up with as many as you made.
The children keep asking about you and like to look at your site. They are amazed at how you cope and think that you are an incredible little girl.
Take care and love to you all
Sue and all at St. John's

  3. Hi Ella, good to see you’re still keeping Mum and Dad busy! Ginger bread biscuits we had to go out and get some this weekend. Remembering the macaroons and wraps we decided to forget the making and just go for the decorating mind you we only had 2 each! Can we have some photos of your biscuits please; we could do with some more inspiration!
Mum just isn't that good at biscuits. Last time she did some baking it was Mrs Green's salt dough recipe and dad actually tried to eat them!! Served him right we all laughed!!
Ana has been learning about Sculptures in year one. She has just written a note saying that The Sphinx lost its nose a long time ago and that it wasn’t there when her mum went to see it so it must have been ages ago! Maybe you can tell her about it when you come home?!
Here’s hoping to an end to the yucky days lots of sunshine and many trips outside.

    Keep shining Ella and all

P.S. Well done to Simon, we’re exhausted just thinking about 10k never mind running in super quick time. Hats off to you sir.
