Grace and her Mum, Sam, when they came to visit.

Day+
A really peaceful opening to this day with both Ella and Rachael fast asleep when I arrived. I made good use of the quiet time I had, adding the finishing touches to my leg warmers, then shortly before 8.00am I heard a movement........Rachael. She was quickly revived with sugary coffee and shortly afterwards Ella woke up too. We all sat on Rachael's bed to have a usual sharing of ' during the night' stories and discussed our plans for the day.We put on the dvd, but only to watch, it wasn't fair to the other patients to make a noise at that time was it?
Ella was just helping herself to some cornflakes when Nikki arriveed to say that Ella needed to give some blood again (line still being naughty). She gave her the choice of a thumb prick or from her arm. We were all surprised when Ella elected tp have the latter. All the grown ups then spent the next half hour trying to change her mind, in order to avoid the performance of yesterday. Eventually she was 'thumbed' much to Ella's disgust, and Rachael and I had the back lash of a grumpy, fed up little angel to get 'you know what'ed'. It was decided a quick bed bath was the order of the day, quick pj game and back onto her own bed just in time for Janet to arrive. A welcome distraction!
The lesson was fractions again today and then a computer session. All good stuff. Janet explained that as we move into the next couple of weeks there may be times when lessons, as such, won't go ahead ,so the computer will come become even more useful.Stories and hands and feet massages will help Ella to relax and keep her motivated. They made a good start this afternoon when Janet came back to massage Ella's hands and paint her nails. Lovely! A great time to chat!Half term next week, can the time be flying by so quickly?
Later we had a visit from Muriel our play specialist, another welcome diversion from the 'thumb' incident. Ella happily used a sticker book with Muriel whilst talking about the pros and cons of giving blood, Rachael painted and I tidied the toy boxes.
By early afternoon Ella had more or less forgiven us and we all settled down to watch a dvd......Tinkerbell. Ella managed the first ten mins. which left Rachael and I to relax and enjoy it to the very end. I have been trying for the last two days to prise Rachael outside. She gave in this afternoon and went shopping in Swinton.umm. She came back two hours later with quite an assortment of shopping which included Reb Bull and dry shampoo (good thinking?)
After such a long sleep this afternoon Ella is wide awake at 9.45pm. Of course we have switched the TV off, and instead Rachael is warming up using the dvd. A shining example of agility and grace. ( remember the boxercise Sally?) I'm doing my bit sat down, just in case you think I'm slacking. There is much pointing of toes going on under the bed Im leaning on, writing tonights' blog. VERY strenuous on the old ankles don't you know!
We have decided to have an early night tonight. Rachael is cooling off on the bathroom.(muttering something about loosing weight).......and Ella has been watching projected space pictures on the walls, which are meant to be soothing and relaxing. Unfortunately the projector makes such a racket that I've had to switch it off.
We'll say night night to everyone, especially Mummy and Daddy. Ella can't wait to see you again and sends big hugs and kisses. lots of love to everyone, Ella, Rachael and Annette.xxx
