Day +79
It’s another ‘hi’ from Manchester. The sun was lovely at dawn, then it rained, then the sun shone again, then it became really quite warm and finally it is going dark. Mind you it’s almost 8.30pm and we are watching Britain’s Got Talent……
Ella has had a quiet, but interesting day today. This morning we had our usual slow start….with cups of tea and toast for Sally and I whilst Ella woke up properly. She had a little bit of help with her pain relief, and by dinner time we were wide awake. Today’s Dr has changed her medicines slightly, so we will see if her night is more settled.
Sally and I had the usual ‘shower challenge’. Can we get a shower without being scalded or frozen or both? The answer is still ….no. In fact, today, Sally had to go onto another ward to use their shower.
Just after lunch Daddy arrived to take over from Sally, just in time to get Ella washed and changed, helped of course by his two glamorous assistants. Shortly after that Ella’s lines came down and we were able to move around. Another little girl on the unit had a birthday today, and Ella wanted to make her a present. What was it going to be? A peg doll dressed in the outfit that Amy was wearing today, and Nanna was going to make it!! Ummm. We compromised on making a card and we found another little gift we could take her. Ella then had special permission to take it along to Amy’s cubicle. Lovely.
By now the weather had become quite warm and we really enjoyed our walk out in the grounds and we even popped to the very nearby shop, to buy some chocolates for the nurses.
By the time we got back Auntie Cheryl, Uncle Mark, Josh and Megan had arrived. Ella enjoyed them coming, although the children can’t come into the cubicle, so they all waved at each other through the window.
That brings us more or less to now. Nurse Kirsty has just been in to take bloods from Ella’s lines and they are not bleeding back again!!! Keep everything crossed that they behave themselves!!!!!!!
I think another early night is coming up and then we will all have lots of energy tomorrow, to do all the things we have got planned for Daddy…..beginning with the PERFUME FACTORY!!!!!!!!
Night night, lots of love to everyone and as usual our thanks for all your support and prayers.
Ella, Damian and Annette.xxx
